Inspired by my favorite maps, (Exscaliber, Store, Smosh, Lod and Classic) I am hoping to clash these ideas into a Mini Cb Classic. I will call this Mini Cb Classic - Saints in honor of our clan. These past two weeks, I have been messing with triggers and surprisingly, I have caught on with this type of thing and I can gladly say that I know the basics and more of trigger making. I have made the choice of not going on the net these past few days to make time for this map. I will come back on thurday for a full reveiw of this map.
Once I got past on how to name objects, I quickly learned how to do everything else. I must give credit to my most favorite of map makers who I looked on their maps own triggers to give birth to mine. It took a while, but everything now seems to becoming hand in hand and I can estimate that I will be done with this map next week. I will not forget that I still have an unfinished Udp map and I have decided to make the triggers for that map as well. Udp is alot harder to create, so I figured I will toy with this classic map before I move onto a more harder map.
~What this Map Features~
This map will hold true to the traditional roots of classic, but with a few more added triggers to make it more enjoyable. The latest classics only reached as far as a 600 kill reward, ending with a second villie. I am planning on taking the classic roots to 1000 Kill rewards. I am also planning on having anouther unit added to start the game with hp as high as 1500-2000. He will be like the Smoshes Imam or the Royal Hp gaurd that Exscal offers. Here's the many triggers already added and will be added.
Added Features:
Red = Not Added Green = Already Added Yellow = Already being worked on and in preparations
- A Weaker version of the William Wallace(Idea implemented from Mini Cb Store) at a 100 Kills to go with your Watch Tower for a Reward.
- Super Sabs, Villagers, and the other Reward Units you receive for kills come fully out of the Spawn and don't stay in place
- Your map is positioned to the spawn area after earning a Unit Reward. Ensures that the Player/User is aware of his reward and adds to exsperience.
- At 700 Kills you get a Striker
- At 800 Kills you get an extra castle outside of base infront of Flags.
- Terrian is altered and improved for enhanced Gameplay
- Soundfiles are added and improved. (I was surprised that most versions didn't have this included)
- An Extra Unit to start game with, (1500-2000 hp) (The triggers are added, but the Unit is not yet decided on.)
- Name of Heroes to Include 16 Saints
- 900 Kills Reward
- 1000 Kill Reward

Well all those ideas sound good except one. I don't like when the screen moves for special things. I have lost my hero in classic because when u get a villie the screen moves. I would rather just have a cool sound file played when someone gets a striker, or something like that.
I like the monks remaining behind castles, but if you want, you can have them out a little on the path. Don't make path too long like in excal. I almost always succeed in getting a celt because it is too easy to convert and that just kills the game.
More than two villies might be nice. Villies are often blocked which is really annoying and I have had both of mine blocked before which sucks.
A super martel or harald for 2000 kills would be nice. We have all had that game where it is 1v4 or something and we could win if there was a prize for 2000 or 3000 kills. Or maybe a 5k attack sab with 30k hp.
Maybe pers and spans both lose a house or two. They own so much they don't deserve as much pop.
The spawn could be placed so far back from castles that people won't try to block it.
Hero should not get attack power as fast as in excal. Hero should never die from 2 shots from another hero, as it is impossible to avoid a ballistics hero in that situation.
A new kill counter, one that is perfectly accurate. It should be so that lets say the king has 1hp to start game. Starting with the second kill, each kill adds 1 hp to your king. This will tell us exactly how many kills we have so we don't have to guess anymore. Instructions how to do it. First I would do a basic trigger effect that sets king hp to 1. Then I would make a trigger where the condition is kill count = 1 and the effect is that hp on king increases by 1 per kill. This should make the first kill not add hp, but all the other kills should, this way you can have an accurate kill counter. I didn't test it since I am at a friends that has no aoe, but I am pretty sure this trigger set up will work.
Cobra cars are fun, maybe they can be stuck somewhere, no need to power them up extra as they already own.
I am gonna go do stuff now, perhaps I will come up with more cool ideas later.

In the First post, I added the heroes and those recognized. Cobras is a cool idea, but kinda takes away from the main mid-evil feeling. And the hero attack Will NOT be based on the Exscal version, but from the Mini CB Classic. However, instead of gaining 1 attack and 2 hp every 20 seconds, you gain it every 15 seconds. The Super Sabs Attack will be lowered as well.

ok, yeah true the cobra does eliminate from the medieval setting so no need of that then. What about the screen moving thing, I don't want to hear people say they lost their hero because the screen moved; I have lost mine once that way, and also have seen it happen to others. That sounds perfect for hero. I like the classic attack and hp ratio, but they powered up a little too slow and it was hard to kill huns on rushes. This new change ought to make everything better, sounds perfect.

An extra uber powerful unit? Like the horsemen in Excal VII? In my opinion, for classic, it isn't so effective as it may be in Excal. This is due to the slower hp+atk power up and a lack of a royal guard (the foot swordsman), as well as a lack of tc+jans. If you place it in Classic, I just have this odd feeling that it'll be a pain to kill? Maybe lower the hp
I also have another question - will this be based on the excal or classic base setup (separated or close together)?
As for monks, maybe stretch their shallow just to the base entrance (not outside entrance but inner entrance). Will you incorporate the monk that comes with imperial as in Excal, or stick to the classic approach? Another question - will there be rewards for converts, razes, if hero dies, etc?
For a 900 reward, I actually would like a nice Treb =D For 1000, greatly power up the player's William Wallace if it is alive - Adds a new hero to figure out if they should defend it or use it to kill. For 1500 kills, maybe a strong elite huskarl [ can be converted, but still very strong since arrow resistant] For 2000 kills, a super Charlemagne (good enough range so that it can help in fighting, yet not enough to snipe an enemy from the base entrance). Another suggestion is to add a strong PETARD (yes a petard, it's slow, but strong)
More questions - Will there be a lance and a wolf? And how many upgrades from Excal and Store will you include (e.g. Excal's bombard at 400 kills or maybe Store's archery range/inner house setup)
All in all - exceptional ! ;D

Looking good guys, but I want you to understand that this is a Mini Cb classic. I am hoping to appeal to the Non Rated players that are a step away from Exscal. These are the Classical Players.
If I made this map with decked out heroes and seiges, then it's probaly gonna be obvious that it isnt a Classic at all.
Classic = Military Exscaliber = Heroes
Besides, We already have 7 versions of Exscaliber, we don't need anouther. King_Arthur is doing a fine job in that rated playing feel and I don't think his maps need any competition.
I am wanting to keep to the roots of Mini Cb Classic while adding a little bit of improvements that will speed the long Gameplay. The William will have 300 attack with 500-700 hp. I will also give 700 and 800 awards which will be for a more defense strategy while the 900 kill and 1000 kill rewards will be offensive units to take your enemies base.

Yeah, I think making this map a balance between excal and classic is good. I assume there won't be anything in the middle, as I love that about classic cuz I like to chat when game starts and analyze the civ situation instead of immediately battling. I think the goal of this map is to speed classic games up, yet make it easy enough for a classic player to understand without needing lots of practice. In Excal, classic players get owned easily by surprise lances, converted monk, and getting their units converted from the shallows to give the enemy early imp. We don't want to overdo the features, we can always make a map a la excal later. Besides the name will have classic in it, and we will have to stick to classic roots. Keeping both castles close and monks behind castle is part of the basic classic structure and probably should stay. We don't want to make confusing tricky changes that will scare off classic non-rated players.
One more thing, Aztecs should have 1000 hp added to castles after imp, since they don't learn hoardings or masonry and have horrible castle defense. All the kill amounts to imp are perfect I think, so no need to mess around with that, although if someone wants imp celts at 150, that is alright since there is one classic version with that and it is popular. The idea of charlemagne as the hero is cool, since he has a little bit of range.
What vic was talking about for hp was the 1500-2000 hp guy. That is almost impossible to kill on classic. Perhaps around 1000 hp would be better, as we don't want it to be invincible.
I was talking to a store player and asked what his favorite thing about store was, and he said the martel. I like the martel too, perhaps this can be added at 200 kills or something like that since that martel is cool and this will promote store players playing our map as well.

The martel shouldn't have more than 50 attack as it will get kills too fast if it did. How long til the map gets finished? I would love to start hosting it, since I am tired of excal, and I will promote this map, first in non-rated, and once it gets popular and we are sure it is glitch free, we can use it in rated as well. I would like for u to test the map with me cruz before u release it that way I can see if it all is good. If the king counter works, you should name the king to say, "Read my HP to know kills."

Alright, I have finished the jist of this map. When I am able to get my computer back to working, I will host it for you guys to check it out. I decided to skip the 900 Kill reward for now. The hp of the Weaker uber heroes will be 750 and williams attack 250. At 1000, you will receive a Champion similar to that of King Arthur from Exscaliber. I didn't want to add the treb yet at 900 kills because the only way you can reach other castles is by being in the spawn with it. That would unfair to players 4 and 8. Also, I have some song files to add, but for the most part, this map is ready for launch. I added a booter and triggers, but I am not certin to keep it in the final launch. This map will be used for non rated sinse most Classic players are there. I would suggest playing in Non rated more often, considering that King clan might not want to play with us. Let them play with themselves if they want, but this map will be most likely for Non-Rated.

I haven't been able to go on my comp all week because school and my dad always wants to play poker online. Right now I type this on my Nintendo Wii using stolen wireless internet. What about a charlemagne instead of champ so it looks different from excal? Also how about a martel with 40 attack after 200 kills? Also I hope the screen doesn't move for rewards or else hero might die during screen change. Well read my above suggestions again in case you missed a good idea I had. Typing with a wireless remote is fun, but it is a pain in the ass so I guess I will end it here.

Fork, I decided to have the veiw change for only the 500 and 1000 Kill rewards. This adds to the dramaticness when you receive your first villager and the Champion.
